Dear family, friends and readers,

I would like to share with you how God has been challenging, shaping and teaching me in this season of life, as well as a little bit about His plans for me in the near future.

Early in the year I felt that God was calling me to other places, I knew that some time in 2018, I would be witness to God’s amazing plan in action. It was a trip to Edmonton when visiting dear cousin Ruth that she shared about an opportunity to serve overseas as a Graphic Designer that I felt God saying “this is where I want you to go.” I was simply inspired. God was calling me to leave my comfortable, secure job as a Graphic Designer in a design firm to be stretched and challenged to do His work for His glory! After much prayer, I am joyful to say God has opened a door to serve in Japan as a Graphic Designer with the Overseas Missionary Fellowship. The moment I gave my fears of the future to God, He provided in an amazing way. Not a week after my approval with OMF did I receive a new job at the African Children’s Choir, where they allowed me to take leave this fall to serve the community in Japan.

OMF was founded as the China Inland Mission in 1865 by pioneer missionary to China, Hudson Taylor. OMF Serve Asia is the short-term program within the broader mission designed to give people an enriching overseas and cross-cultural experience.

I have been accepted to the OMF Serve Asia mission project in Yokohama, Japan. This is a 2 month trip in which I will be joining a missionary team to assist with any graphic design needs to help spread the gospel through Seisho no Kotoba (the Japanese BibleWord). Other outreach will be through prayer walks, interactions with local people, and a unique on-site educational experience. In these ways, myself along with the local Japanese team will be able to show the love of Christ through our lives as we interact with the people in their communities.

I ask that you will partner with me through your prayers as I embark on this journey. There is a great need for prayer in order to gain the essential spiritual, physical, emotional and financial support necessary to engage in this ministry.

These diverse needs have presented me with a great opportunity to trust God to provide in many areas for what He has called me to do.
