Hello family, friends and readers!
Today, I must document two recent events: sharing with the English Ministry at the Vietnamese Langley Alliance Church and at my workplace, Music for Life Institute home of the African Children’s Choir, during devotions.
August 19, 2018, I shared at the Langley Church about God’s work with OMF in Japan and how my journey to seek obedience to God has led me to partner with OMF this fall. But most importantly, I wanted to share the key point of how God placed in my heart the desire to use my specific skills to serve him and spread the gospel.
“Each of you should use whatever gifts you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10
I wanted to allow for the Spirit to use me to encourage and inspire the congregation. God has provided me with opportunities to share and I have slowly learned to not take any of those for granted. Although, I was fully funded before sharing at the Langley Church (Praise God!), God called me to give them a praise report, an encouragement, and an invitation to join me in this ministry. I invited the Langley Church to support me in prayer and handed out my prayer cards. I admit I entered the service very exhausted from attending two services earlier that day, however God really gave me the energy to persevere to do his will. I was moved… their support, encouragements and words of prayer that evening had me filled with energy and love. I thought to myself “how amazing is God that he brings such amazing people to gather together under one roof, one church, and one God.”
Encouraged, energized and excited for the Lord’s work, I joyfully accepted an opportunity to share with my new co-workers at Music for Life Institute (African Children’s Choir) about my missions trip. A very encouraging morning it was. As it had only been less than two months of knowing this group of people, I knew I was stepping out of my comfort zone. But God has shown me his unending love and support through so many groups that I never thought I would come into contact with. Leaving this weekend, I have the confidence that so many have me in their prayers.
I continue to invite all of you to pray for myself and for God to soften the hearts of the Japanese that will come into contact with him, that they maybe receptive to his words and love.
