Hello family, friends and readers!
After almost 24 hours of commute, I am glad to report that I have safely arrived to Japan! Due to aircraft complications, my 45 minute layover in Seattle turned into a 4 hour delay. But I am so thankful that we were transferred to a safe aircraft despite the time lost.
Upon landing at Narita Airport, I took an hour+ train ride to Ichikawamama Station to meet with Susan, who was there to greet me and guide me to the OMF guesthouse. Since my arrival was quite late, I was ready for rest.
Of course, the first thing I did once I settled in was go to the nearby こんびに (convenient store) to get some food. And then I rested.
One of my favourite verses comes to mind as I reflect.
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.”
Psalm 34:4
I am still in disbelief that I am where I am, and how I got here, and why I am here; but the answers that God gave to my future and my purpose in life have all led me here in Japan. Seeking more of the Lord has led me to new places, new challenges but most importantly growth in my relationship with God.
Please pray specifically for Japan in the next few days as one of the biggest typhoons of 2018 (Super Typhoon Jebi) is scheduled to hit. Pray for safety of the population and God’s hand of protection on us all.
