Day 3: Relocation

Hello family, friends and readers!

Today I had my orientation with Susan in the morning. I also got a tour of the OMF headquarters. The theme was “Lessons at the Lake” and the interior was beautifully designed with wall murals. The kanji (chinese character) in the nets of the picture below read 人 (Hito or person). A great creative solution communicating being fishers of men.

After orientation, I prepared my luggage to travel west to Yokohama. Right as I was leaving, I ran into a short-term missionary, Candace (from America),she was leaving on Saturday!  Soon a few others (Susan and Daniela) joined us for a quick chat. Candace helped me roll my luggage to the station. We said our farewells once we reached Ichikawa Station.

At Tama Plaza Station, a sharehouse worker, met with me to take me to my sharehouse. Below is an image of my room after having just moved in.

After the tour of the sharehouse, Jessy from the Connect Team met with me and we had lunch together and she showed me around Yokohama. I’m looking forward to serving with her!

Later in the evening, we met with Kevin, who lives in the same building as me! We had some soba near the station for dinner. I’m excited to be part of this community. Talking with Kevin and Jessy, who are not native Japanese really encourages me to study my Japanese!

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”
Galatians 1:10

Meeting some of the connect team was so encouraging. Never have I been so free with my time, but I will do my best to stay focused on God and the task that he has put me here in Japan for. I pray that I can be a good steward to those that I serve.

Prayer points:

1. Pray for Japan, Osaka Area with the Typhoon Damage and Sapporo with Earthquake Damage.

2. For safety and God’s protection physically, mentally and spiritually.
