Day 10: New Hope

Hello family, friends and readers!

I spent the morning and afternoon doing work. I’m still learning to balance all the tasks given to me, both from my obligations in Japan and Canada. Please pray for productive days!

After working in the morning and grabbing lunch at a family restaurant called Jonathan’s, I walked to Center Minami Station to meet with Jessy. It took about 45 minutes to walk there, the weather was so cool, so I decided to walk instead of take the train. I am so amazed at God’s creation! I think Japan has a beautiful landscape. Even in the most mundane places.

I arrived at our meeting spot quite early, so I did more work in the nearby McDonald’s. Once our meeting time arrived, Jessy and I had some dinner, we both share a love for Ramen. It is a real pleasure to be in fellowship with someone as encouraging and hospitable as Jessy.

We were meeting up to attend New Hope Yokohama Mid-week Service. Matthias from Connect International Christian Community (CICC) also serves here!

I was so pumped up after hearing their worship team! They sang old but familiar songs. I LOVED IT!! Praise God for his fruitfulness in this church. So many praise reports were announced in preparation for their 14th Anniversary on Sunday.

Jessy and I got to talk to a few members. Mari was one of them, she was very open to share about her life with us and of course in response, we shared ours.

Another person we met is Mayu, she is a young lady who will be attending a Discipleship program! Her joy and love for the Lord were apparently contagious. It was so encouraging to join this church for the evening.

“Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:4-5

Today Seisho no Kotoba posted my illustration. I pray that it does well to reach the Japanese that have yet to know the Lord.

Prayer points:

1. Pray for the Japanese to be responsive to our outreaches.

2. Pray for New Hope and Connect Church to continue to strive to be more like Jesus, and serve him in humility and love so that the Japanese may know God through them.
