Hello family, friends and readers!
It’s the weekend! Jessy and I are both quite new to the Yokohama area, so we thought it would be fun to check out the Cup Noodle Museum this afternoon. As usual, I spent the morning working. I am very thankful for the work I receive, but I am finding it challenging to make time for everything. Please keep me in your prayers, that I can be a good steward to God and honour him through my work.
The Museum was a great way to spend the afternoon. It was so much more than Instant Ramen. I left feeling so inspired by Momofuku Ando, the creator of Cup Ramen! There was a great message through the entire exhibit about creating an entire forest (of cup ramen) rather than protecting one’s own tree from being stolen. Working together to build a booming industry.
We got to create our own cup noodles as well! I call mine Dragon Ramen! It was a nice break after a week of work!
After the museum, I hadn’t eaten yet and we were well into the late afternoon time. We stopped by a food court in a shopping center and I got the one thing I could read off the menu. カレーうどん。
Jessy and I were also planning a games night at the sharehouse. Kevin graciously offered to make us dinner as well. It was very good!
I was very much looking forward to the cake. We had Sayo join us after dinner for cake and games. We all hung out well into the night. The games we played were great for those that didn’t speak much English or Japanese. Although a language barrier exists, competitive games are a universal language. May God bless these encounters.
“Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.”
1 Peter 2:17
As I worked this morning, I was listening to a sermon from Rick Warren (after Matthias shared about a series during Connect Team meeting) and I am reminded that God created everyone with dignity, and our dignity comes from him. My hope is that through the respect and love I show to others, God’s love will flow through and they may know God and what he’s done for all of us.
Prayer points:
1. Pray for the Japanese to be responsive to our outreaches.
2. Pray for ears to listen, eyes to see and the right questions to be asked to connect to others in the love of Christ.
