Day 14: New Hope 14th Anniversary

Hello family, friends and readers!

Today Jessy and I went to New Hope’s 14th Anniversary Service. We took the transit to Sakuragicho Station where the large ferris wheel is! We joined their young adults group for devotions in the morning before service. It was a good time of sharing. I hope to have more opportunities to share with others about God and to have the right words.

Jessy and I grabbed lunch at Pepper Lunch! It was her first time, but definitely not her last.

Joining in the service for New Hope was very encouraging! I can’t express how much I love hearing worship songs in Japanese. I got to help a little bit and took pictures for the service using their AMAZING Nikon camera. It makes me want to invest in better equipment myself! It was wonderful to witness how God can work with those with a vision.

After service Jessy and I went to eat dinner with Mari and Akana. We spent the evening sharing how each of us came to Christ and their stories are so amazing. Growing up in a Christian environment, I can’t imagine the sacrifice these women had to go through to follow Christ. But it shows in their life that God is at work and that they are truly following him and committed to being a disciple of God. Hearing their stories of how God spoke to them, whether through gradual encounters or clear words, I am thankful for God pouring out his spirit in all of us.

“Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, ‘Abba, Father.’”
Galatians 4:6

Prayer points:

1. Pray for God to continue to bless New Hope Church.

2. Pray for Mari, Jessy and Akana as they faithfully follow God.

3. Pray for my mental, spiritual and physical health as I serve in Japan and focus for the task that He has given me.
